Jimmie's Diner #2 fails follow-up food safety inspection

By Mike Thayer
In a standardization food safety inspection conducted by the Sedgwick County Health Department on 11/13/2019, Jimmie's Diner #2 located at  1519 George Washington Dr. in Wichita was found to be out of compliance with 13 food safety violations.  Violations included improper food storage; food at unsafe temperatures; old food; dented food can; cracked food container; dirty equipment; chemicals stored by food preparation equipment.
When a restaurant falls out of compliance, the establishment is given time to fix the violations that couldn't be educated/corrected on the spot and a follow-up inspection is made at a later date.  That follow-up visit was made on 12/06/2019.  The health department found Jimmie's to be out of compliance with four violations.  Violations included food at unsafe temperatures; old food; dirty dishes found in clean dish rack.
In 2018, the restaurant was found to be out of compliance in three inspection visits, those inspections taking place on 1/02/2019, 1/30/2018 and 11/21/2018.
